Swiss ceramic implants. Now in Hungary.
Ceramedica is the official Zeramex distributor for Hungary. We keep Zeramex XT in stock locally, train your team, and show you the system working in a live clinical setting.
01 / Why ceramic
Patients ask for metal-free. Supply in Hungary has not kept up.
Zirconia implants are no longer a niche request. Yet Hungarian practices that want to offer them have had to rely on distributors that come and go, with long lead times and little local support.
Local stock
Zeramex XT implants, abutments and instruments shipped from Hungary, with no waiting on a foreign warehouse.
A clinic that uses it daily
Mercz Dental in Üröm places Zeramex XT in routine practice. You can watch the protocol, not a slide deck.
Training for the whole team
Surgical and prosthetic training for dentists, assistants and your dental technician.
A manufacturer with a long record
CeramTec has worked in ceramic implantology since 1976 and makes Zeramex in Switzerland.
87% choose white.
Asked whether they would choose a grey or a white dental implant, 87% of 1,000 survey respondents chose white. Patients notice the difference, and more of them ask for it.

04 / Comparison
Zirconia versus titanium, from the clinician's side.
Titanium remains a proven option. Zirconia is the better choice when the case calls for a metal-free, tissue-friendly, white implant.
| Criterion | Zirconia ceramic (Zeramex XT) | Titanium |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Metal-free ATZ zirconia. No ion release, no galvanic effects. | Titanium alloy with a passive oxide layer that can be disrupted. |
| Corrosion | Ionic bonds. Does not corrode in the oral environment. | Corrosion resistance depends on the integrity of the oxide layer. |
| Soft tissue | Low biofilm affinity. Supports stable peri-implant soft tissue. | Well documented, but biofilm adhesion and peri-implantitis remain the main long-term risk. |
| Aesthetics | White core. No grey show-through with thin gingival biotypes. | Grey margin can show through thin tissue in the anterior region. |
| Patient fit | Metal sensitivity, aesthetic anterior cases, patients who ask for metal-free. | Posterior cases with no metal sensitivity and no aesthetic concern. |
| Prosthetics | Two-piece, screw-retained. Same workflow logic as a two-piece titanium system. | Full range of established prosthetic components. |
Natural aesthetics.
Zirconia outperforms grey titanium because there are no grey edges and no dark implant core. The natural look of ceramic implants is particularly effective with thin gingival tissue.
- No dark implant core
- No grey edges
Cosgarea et al., Clin Oral Implants Res, 2015
Improved blood flow.
Soft tissue around a zirconia implant is comparable to the tissue around natural teeth, particularly in blood flow and the orientation of the collagen fibres. The low level of plaque makes hygiene easier for the patient and helps keep the tissue around the implant free of inflammation.
- Low plaque affinity and bacterial adhesion
- Soft tissue that stays stable and healthy over the long term

05 / Zeramex XT
Two-piece. Screw-retained. 100% metal-free.
A bone-level zirconia implant that works the way you already work. Standard drilling protocol, closed healing, screw-retained restorations.
ATZ zirconia
Alumina-toughened zirconia, hard-machined from HIPed blanks for high fracture resistance, confirmed in vitro by Kohal et al. (2023).
Vicarbo® screw
Carbon-fibre reinforced polymer screw. The abutment is screw-retained with no metal part anywhere in the system.
Zerafil™ surface
Micro-rough zirconia surface designed for predictable osseointegration and a stable bone-to-implant contact.
Familiar surgery
Self-tapping thread, bone-level placement, closed healing possible. Augmentation and sinus lift can be combined in suitable cases.
Prosthetic flexibility
Straight and angled zirconia abutments, plus Zeramex Digital Solutions for CAD/CAM restorations.
Manufacturer warranty
Zeramex products are covered by CeramTec's warranty programme. We handle the paperwork in Hungary.
Bolt in tube: resilience that suits ceramics.
The Vicarbo screw is paired with the special inner geometry of the implant. In the bolt-in-tube system the screw absorbs both tensile and shear forces, while the interlocks only position the abutment and prevent rotation.
- Protected against rotation and easy to position precisely
- No tensile or bending forces at the implant-abutment interface

Arrange a meeting07 / FAQ
Questions dentists ask before offering zirconia.
Short answers on ceramic implants in general and Zeramex XT in particular. For anything specific to your cases, ask our clinical team.
01Are zirconia implants as reliable as titanium?
Modern two-piece zirconia implants report survival rates in the same range as titanium. A private-practice study of 167 two-piece zirconia implants found 98.2% survival over up to 7 years (Tartsch et al., 2025), and a retrospective study of Zeramex XT reported 100% survival at 24 months (Mehnert et al., 2026). Titanium still has the longer track record, so case selection and protocol matter as much as the material.
02Which patients are good candidates for a zirconia implant?
Patients with suspected or confirmed metal sensitivity, aesthetic cases in the anterior region with a thin gingival biotype, and patients who ask for a metal-free restoration. The general prerequisites are the same as for any implant: enough bone or a plan to augment it, good oral hygiene, and controlled systemic conditions.
03Can a zirconia implant cause an allergic reaction?
Allergic reactions to zirconia are considered extremely rare. Zirconia is a ceramic held together by ionic bonds, so it does not corrode or release metal ions in the mouth. That is why it is the usual choice when a patient reports a metal allergy or reacts to titanium.
04How long does osseointegration take?
Typically 3–6 months, depending on bone quality, the site and whether augmentation was needed, which is comparable to titanium. Follow the loading recommendations in the Zeramex instructions for use.
05Does zirconia lower the risk of peri-implantitis?
Studies show lower plaque affinity on zirconia than on titanium, and clinicians report stable peri-implant soft tissue. That makes it a favourable surface, but it does not replace careful planning, good hygiene and regular recall. The peri-implant tissues need the same maintenance as with any implant.
06Why does it matter that Zeramex XT is two-piece?
One-piece ceramic implants heal transgingivally, are exposed to forces during healing, and often need the abutment prepared in the mouth. Zeramex XT separates the implant from the abutment, so you can heal closed, choose a straight or angled abutment afterwards, and restore with screw retention, the same logic as a two-piece titanium system.
07Is there really no metal anywhere in the system?
Yes. The implant body and the abutments are ATZ zirconia, and the abutment is fixed with the Vicarbo® screw, made of carbon-fibre reinforced polymer. No metal part stays in the patient.
08How different is the surgery from my titanium system?
Less than most dentists expect. Zeramex XT uses a standard drilling sequence with its own surgical kit, a self-tapping thread and bone-level placement, and augmentation or a sinus lift can be combined in suitable cases. The differences, such as torque values and component handling, are covered in our hands-on training.
09What prosthetic options and digital workflow are available?
Straight and angled zirconia abutments, plus Zeramex Digital Solutions for CAD/CAM restorations. Your dental technician can join our training to learn the components and the digital workflow.
10How do ordering, delivery and warranty work in Hungary?
We keep implants, abutments and instruments in stock in Hungary, invoice in Hungarian and provide Hungarian-language documentation. Zeramex products are covered by CeramTec's warranty programme, and we handle the paperwork locally. Ask for the price list through the contact form.
11How can I see the system before committing?
